A model retweeted me!

Hello dear readers,

So here's the exciting news that I briefly mentioned yesterday: I got retweeted by a really famous model! I did a drawing of her, because I love her hair and style so much (check her Instagram: it's @chloenorgaard) - and she retweeted it!

Honestly, I was hyperventilating for about 10 minutes and almost fell off my chair - it was an amazing feeling.

Then I said thank you to her, and she favourited that too! And she also favourited a cute tweet that someone sent me about the drawing - asdffghkkl....

But yes, I'm very excited. Her name is Chloe Norgaard, if you haven't worked it out yet (from the Instagram name)! If you haven't heard of her, have a look, she's beautiful and lovely.

Thanks for reading, many hugs

Ps: if you're wondering haha, the drawing is here:

New room tour

Hello dear readers,

Just a brief post to show you my new room.  I went with a creme and duck egg blue theme, as I'm sure you'll see...!

My favourite element: the bed and fairy lights

My rather busy dressing table

My bookcase - proud to say I've read almost every book on there.

How I've arranged my nail varnishes - although this will be re-painted to white soon.

I really recommend these - they're a great way to display all your jewellery. I keep my dangly (great terminology, Mati) earrings on it, and my studs are in the dressing table.

The collection of old photos and cards above my desk... I'll hopefully decorate the other wall with even more photos soon.

My High School Musical jumping model (winky face) that I use for art

My current desk setup: featuring my new, beautiful Roberts radio, my overdose of CDs, a boomerang, and of course my trusty notepads.

So that's it for today! Hope you enjoyed having a little look around my new room; I'm kind of obsessed with it.

Very exciting post coming tomorrow (even though it might be a little short)!

Thanks for reading, many hugs

What I got for christmas (beauty)

Hello dear readers,

Firstly, I'll apologise for the lack of daily blogging yesterday - shameful, shameful.

Secondly, I hope you're all celebrating that I've FINALLY got round to doing a long-awaited post: What I got for Christmas.

Now, I'm afraid I've had to compromise a little *sigh, I know* because my mother's extraordinary tidying skills mean that it's been hard for me to gather up things that I got, as most have been tidied away somewhere... However, I've decided that maybe this is a good thing, as I can now just focus on one topic: beauty.

Ok, so I know I'm nowhere near Alexa Chung, but I'll attempt to give some advice on some products, which I hope you'll find useful.

^ This is the first product: Treacle moon 'her mango thoughts' bath and shower gel. Now, I seem to have a bit of an obsession with this scent, (look below: featuring my one from last year - just as good - from The little bubble co., 'Mango delight') as do many others, it seems. And for good reason!

I'm sure the gel is great for your skin, but to be honest, the main attraction is the scent. And it does smell SO good - and leaves you feeling really refreshed afterwards. I only use it in the shower, but I imagine it's just as good in the bath.

^ This is my set from Ted Baker - one of my favourite Christmas gifts this year. There are six items, all body gels/ lotions/ scrubs, (one is a body 'soufflé' - never heard of that one before!) all of which smell AMAZING. It's weird though, I find that they don't smell brilliant in their pot/ bottle, but when you put them on your skin they smell great. It might just be me... Maybe there's some reaction with your skin, I don't know (not a scientist!).

My favourite one of this set is probably the hand lotion, simply because I use it the most. I keep it beside my bed, because I, like a lot of people, tend to get dry skin (especially on my knuckles) during the winter. I find it definitely mousturises my hands, and dries fairly quickly, which is handy (handy - hand - haha! - sorry, not funny).

What I like most about this set though, is that all the products are big, and not the mini versions. I've had a similar set from Soap and Glory before, which was great, but everything was so small that once you got into them they'd run out (which I suppose is the point, but ah well).

Well that's the end of that one then! Hope you enjoyed reading this, it's a bit of a different direction for me, and I have to admit, I felt a bit daunted by it! See you tomorrow,

The (very) happy blogger xxxxx

Ps: new room tour on the way!

Twitter virginity lost!

Hello dear readers,

Ok, so again, I can only apologise about how short this post will be. But it's Friday - so hopefully over the weekend I can be slightly more interesting!

Just a note to say I got twitter two days ago. I know, I'm a bit late... I already had it, but they were accounts set up for my characters in a school play we did; so afterwards I could see what other people were tweeting, but didn't want to actually tweet from my own account. But now, I have my very own one - yay! It's @MatiWarner if you're wondering haha, please do follow if you wish, and maybe even send me a message saying you found me through this blog.

That's all for now, folks (cue looney tunes theme tune)!

New room - yay!!!!!

Hello dear readers,

All I have to say is, well... Nothing. Just please admire the beauty of my new bed and lights... I'm actually in love gah!

Also, it occurred to me that I've never posted a photo of me on here, and you may (probably not but ah well) want to know what I look like:

^i made this little edit at lunch, much to the amusement of my friends...

Anyways, sorry this has been such a random post, I apologise profusely.

Hopefully now I'm nearly all settled again, my posts can be far more interesting than they are at the moment!

Thanks for reading,

Lies and teachers

Hello dear readers,

This is just a quick (sorry, most of my weekday posts will be this) post to say well done to my class today. We (especially one or two girls) organised a teacher version of the tv programme, 'Would I lie to you?' today, and it went so well! We raised over £200 for cystic fibrosis, and there's still money coming in. We're so happy that everyone laughed , we raised money for such an amazing cause, and (best of all) we heard some pretty embarrassing teacher stories!

A very important philosophical question

Hello dear readers,

So, today, all I want to do is become Pluto (philosopher). I would like to ponder with you about an incredibly deep philosophical question... *Drum roll please*...

What do you say when someone coughs? When someone sneezes, you obviously say "bless you", "gesundheit", or a personal favourite of mine (generally when one has performed at least three sneezes): "well you definitely have a cold then". But what if someone coughs?

Whenever this situation occurs, I find myself awkwardly positioned next to the said person, wondering whether to thump them on the back or to say something... This is a very strenuous situation, especially for someone who's socially awkward like me.

So, next time someone coughs, maybe get creative... Say something so wonderfully random (and possibly slightly weird - go for it) that the person will be caught so offguard that their next cough escapes from their body without making a fuss. And there you have it: your very own, man-made, cough cure. Perfect.

Thanks for reading, many hugs

Ps: don't even get me started on what you say when someone gets the hiccups...

My current read

Hello dear readers,

I have a feeling that we should all accept that this is going to be a pretty short and dull post because of a number of reasons:
 1. I feel like I don't have much to talk about at the moment (well I do, but those  posts will take quite a bit of preparation and I don't have that time at 11:30 at night)
 2. Nothing much happened today
 3. Today is a Monday
 4. Need I say more...

But what I will quickly chat about is this book I'm reading, "An abundance of Katherines" by John Green. I've already read "The fault in our stars" and "Looking for Alaska", so this seemed like the next JG book on the list. I've only read a few pages (can't tell you exactly how many because my damn bookmark fell out and I can't find it anywhere amidst the chaos of room redecoration - literally, everything is disappearing, help) but those pages I have read are great (Sorry, it's late, the more interesting adjectives seem to have deserted me).

I won't go too much into the plot, because I don't want to spoil it - even though I'm basically a newbie to it as well! In a nutshell, it's about a very unlucky guy called Colin Singleton (ironically named - very good, JG) and his bestie fo lyf, Hassan Harbish. Colin gets dumped by his 19th girlfriend called Katherine, has a bit of a life crisis and re-evaluation and decides to go on a road trip with the aforementioned best friend. And so the two courageous young men embark on a treacherous journey, (getting a bit poetic, oh my) and that's about where I've got to!

But yes, please do pick it up next time you see it at a bookshop, because it's got just the right amount of humour, irony and just darn good writing from our ever trustworthy JG (came up with that oh-so-inventive nickname myself, how original) - it's definitely worth a read. I have to say, my favourite two bits are how Colin (narrative voice) leaves notes and reference numbers at the bottom of some pages, and how he has a quirky favourite hobby (anagrams) just as Miles has one in L for A (sorry, too tired to write it out, or indeed copy and paste - and FYI, his hobby is learning people's last words).

And that's where this post ends! If you haven't read this book, or, God forbid, any John Green books, I plead with you to change your ways - you won't regret it!

If you liked this post, do share it or whatever one does (still don't get google plus). And if you want me to do more book reviews (I do love my books) please say so in the comments, I'd love to hear from you lovely ones!

Thanks for reading,

Sherlock, carpets, and pure happiness

Hello dear readers,

As I'm sure you've noticed, my post titles are starting to make the posts themselves quite self-explanatory!

Today, we had an unexpected call from the vet to say that we could pick Brownie up earlier, as she said he was so ready to go back home he wouldn't even let them put him back in his kennel, which was amazing news.

So, there we were, standing in the middle of a carpet shop with an assistant who had a magnificently lurid pink suit, and we had to restrain ourselves from producing a three-person flash mob right there and then. Happily, the assistant with the odd dress sense shared our passion about springer spaniels, and we proceeded to have a great chat about them for about 10 minutes, which nearly resulted in us forgetting to pay (which my dad would have been actually very happy about, considering the enormous bill from the vets).

We then popped quickly into Homebase (furniture, appliance, etc shop if you're not a Brit) - yep, you guessed it, I'm getting my room redecorated! (Don't you worry, it will have its very own post soon I'm sure) The person who served us was a fairly good looking young man, and, as my deductive skills sneakily (not really) read his signature on a piece of paper, I naturally proceeded (second use of that word - my English teacher would be proud) to Facebook stalk him as soon as I got in the car. You know, just as a teenage girl protocol. Unfortunately, he has a girlfriend, so that's where that stalking session ended. (Don't worry, I'm not really a psychopathic stalker - just a bored teenage female who needed something to do...)

Next, we collected Browns (nickname) from the vets and I think I caught a glimpse of a tear in one of the vet's eyes... They really grew to love him. Despite his habit of eating underwear which subsequently landed him in dog hospital for a week with us not sleeping or resting at all - nope, he's an angel (I joke - I do really love him, he's like the brother I never had).

^there he is, with his least favourite new thing: the inflatable collar to stop him attacking his stomach stitches. It doesn't even stop him and irritates him immensely - I'm so tempted to take it off, it serves no purpose whatsoever.

The next big part of the day was Sherlock. If you haven't discovered this programme, then (to quote one of my previous posts) I debate your hidden ability to live under a rock! (Don't worry if you haven't - although I do demand you go on iPlayer or get the box set and watch it right now)

It was an amazing episode, but I won't give any spoilers to those of you who haven't watched it yet. All I will say is this: trust the people on tumblr to have already designed those t-shirts - hopefully they'll become a fashion statement in the next twelve hours or so. (If you did watch you'll understand - ha ha, another incentive to have a look if you haven't already!!)

So, I am therefore currently suffering from post-end-of-Sherlock-series-shock, which has happened twice before.

And that's where this post comes to an end. Thank you so much for reading,

The (very, very - although maybe not when it comes to yet another Sherlock series ending) happy blogger xxxxx

Ps: Don't get caught up in that East wind, whatever you do... (Although my dog and I want that blue collar to maybe go down that route)

Creme eggs, friendly vets and fish & chips

Hello dear readers,

(My phone autocorrected 'dear' to 'dead' there - that's not so good!)

So, I'm sure you can tell by the title of this what my day mainly consisted of... This morning I had to leap out of bed and get ready all in the space of ten minutes (all of you teens out there will understand the difficulty of this) to go and see my dog at the vets. Happily, he's a lot better now and we all feel way more cheery than we did yesterday.

After that, I realised that I hadn't eaten anything, which was horrifying considering breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. So, at 1:30pm, I had my first piece of food for the day: a creme egg! (First one of the year - always a momentous occasion)

Then, we popped into town to get a few things before my mum and I's sudden urge for fish and chips had to be satisfied.

We spent the rest of the day eating in front of the tv, watching films and The Voice... Not a bad day!

Hopefully our dog (Brownie) can come he tomorrow, which would literally be amazing.

Hope you liked this post, it's a bit different to my normal ones, but I just felt like doing a quick life update!

Thanks for reading, many hugs

A little happiness every day

Hello dear readers,

Last year, a friend of mine did the thing where you put all of your good memories of the year on little slips of paper and put them in a jar as they happen, so that on New Year's Day, she spent the evening reading through all of them. It really made her feel positive and ready for a new year, as badly cheesy as that sounds.

I've started a similar thing this year, although it's slightly different: ie, I don't have an empty jar to hand and the pages involved are stuck together. Yep, you guessed it (bravo if you actually did) - I'm writing only the good memories of each day into a little notepad, so that when I'm down, and/or nearing the end of the year, I can look through only the happy memories - because surely they're the only ones worth keeping.

Recently, I've been having a bit of a hard time due to my dog (aka my brother, best friend, favourite living organism) not being well and has been at the vets since Tuesday morning. I won't go into too much detail now - I may make a post soon explaining more if you're all interested.

But all in all, even reading through only the few days that have happened so far this year, I feel much better.

Thanks for reading, many hugs,

The (slightly more) happy blogger xxxxx

Perth, Australia

Hello dear readers,

My mum and I were looking through a photo album our cousins had made of our visit to their holiday house (they're from Singapore) in Australia - Perth, to be exact.

I took pictures of some of the best - despite how utterly embarrassing they are... (I'd love to say I've changed since then, but I can't really guarantee it!)

So here they are, the top photos from our visit to Perth, 2008.

So this is me (left) and my cousins. Tip: going to Australia in October isn't the best time due to wind...

There's something about this one I love

Kangaroos have always been my favourite animal, so I was (sort of being an understatement) looking forward to this part of the trip!

After this one is when they start getting embarrassing...

Born to be a Bond girl (check the heavy sarcasm there) ... Especially with that stunning pink two piece, phwoar

I've always been a photogenic one

This was my top moment, and probably my favourite photo

One of the cockerels on this farm later jumped at my (at the time) toddler cousin, which probably wasn't her top moment... Unless you count throwing a tantrum as a unique expression of joy, but there you go

And a cracker to end with... I'm going to regret this hahaha

So, yep... This has been a bit of a random post, I know, sorry! But hope you enjoyed a little insight into one of my favourite ever family holidays - I certainly did!

Also, this could be an example of conforming to society in the way that it represents #tbt (or throwback Thursday for those of you not in the Instagram or Twitter loop!) ... This is awful that I'm explaining this, I never normally know what Internet things mean (Maybe it's not awful then).

Thanks for reading! Many hugs,

The (very) happy blogger xxxxx

Ps: I know I keep delaying it, (terribly sorry - also, I feel like I'm apologising in every single blog post I make - says something about my organisational skills) but the "What I got for Christmas" post is on the way!

Pps: (think that's how you do a double/ second one) I may start trying to make a post every day, yay! Don't know how long that will be kept up, but you know what they say, new year, new you...

Apologies

This is just a short post to apologise for a few things:

  1. I haven't made a new post in a while, sorry, I've had an Art mock  GCSE which is kind of stressful (if you're not from the UK, GCSEs are the exams we take when we're 15/16) - I'll hopefully do a new one over the weekend.
  2. My blog is a bit higgledy-piggledy at the moment, I'm currently thinking of a good theme/ genre to tidy things up a bit.
  3. My theme isn't that great - and the font keeps changing without me doing anything? Gah, technology is stressful.
Anyways, hopefully things will be better soon! The art mock finishes tomorrow, woopie!

But thank you for bearing with me whilst things aren't that great, blog-wise.

Thanks for reading, hugs from

The (kind of stressed and guilty) happy blogger xxxx
